The Markow Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization embracing a comprehensive approach to philanthropy, aiming to create a lasting impact on the lives of children and communities, ensuring a brighter and more equitable future for all.
About the FoundationLook for our upcoming Wheeling for Warriors fundraiser coming this fall. Wheeling for Warriors’ mission is to honor the service and sacrifice of combat veterans and wounded service members who served our country by providing funds to help with PTSD and other combat-related issues. 100% of their proceeds go towards their effort. Since 2021, we have raised almost $33,000 in donations. Many Sterling employees are veterans and helping veterans and their families is a cause that is very near and dear to us. Check back here for more information.
The Foundation engages in a variety of mission-focused events throughout the year. Using the past efforts of the Sterling Companies as a starting point, we work to build our community engagement through alliances with organizations that are similarly focused.
Our Initiatives and PartnershipsAligned with our long-term vision, The Markow Family Foundation is inspired by enduring compassion to contribute annually via philanthropic and financial contributions. Our dedication represents a promise etched in the very fabric of our family’s being.
Meet the Markow FamilyWe are pleased to report that Dan Markow completed the recent Boston Marathon as part of the Dana Farber team. While Dan’s initial goal was to raise $10,000 for cancer research, he raised an amazing $16,116 in total funds! Thank you to everyone who donated!
The 2024 annual Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive held in conjunction with Move for Hunger was a great success.Together with the efforts of the Sterling Corporation employees, we raised an amazing 6,405 lbs.! As in past years, all proceeds went to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank. Danny Markow and his brother Joey, our official PB&J kids, were joined this year by their little sister Hailey! They were on hand to make sure everything went well! With 1 in 12 children facing hunger in Massachusetts, we are glad to do our part to help.
